Born and raised
in Cornwall, Ontario, Gerry "The
Ghost" Watson was destined for
a career in sport. He excelled in hockey and was surprised when
Dave Keon & Frank Mahovlich along
with Toronto Maple Leafs management
came to town to take a look at him. Gerry was thrilled with the chance
but soon after he unfortunately suffered an injury that would end his
hockey dreams. Gerry was 12 when he began playing Pool at a neighbours home and at the age of 13 he began to play at a local billiard club. By the time he was 15 he had risen as the cities top player in both Snooker & Pool. Gerry tried to settle into a "proper" career by attending College and University and then working for the Canadian Government, but the call of the green felt was too much and with all his natural talent Gerry quickly rose to the top of Canadian billiard players. He has won the Canadian Open 8-Ball Championship and is also a 2-time Canadian Open 9-Ball Champion. |
